Unleashing Your Inner Joy and Peace: The Secret to Mental Wellness
Are you happy?
Is that not the ultimate question? The only question that matters?
I feel the hustle and bustle of life keeps us in the bubble. By being in the bubble you are distracted. Distracted from the real questions we should be thinking about. Happiness is a choice, whether you like it or not. Its always a choice. Sometimes a difficult one, but still a choice. Agreed life throws pressure on us, but it boils down to living in the moment and choosing to face things with a positive mindset. You may not always have a say in what comes your way, but the power of the mind is magnificent. You can literally create your reality with the right thoughts as thoughts are frequencies and every single idea came from a thought.
Sometimes inner peace and happiness can seem out of reach, like a distant dream. Yet, real peace is something that comes from within, regardless of your external circumstances. You could have millions in the bank and still feel lonely or unfulfilled. True happiness is found by turning inward and discovering the calm and tranquility that already resides inside you.
The best way to start is with small mindful practices. Moments that allow you to disconnect from the noise of the world and reconnect with yourself. Run a warm bubble bath, add you CBD bath salts, put on some gentle music and light a candle. Relax and savor this precious moment. Meditation is a practice so set yourself a realistic amount of time. Spending time in nature was a special one for me. I loved hearing the birds and nature, feeling the sunshine on my face breaking through the trees. A grounding experience with shoes and socks off. Let mother nature soak up the negative energy from you while recharging every cell. Getting enough restful sleep, I found yoga nidra most helpful with sleep. Check out the blog on how important sleep is. Breathing exercises, (Wim Hoff has some incredible videos on YouTube). I understand its not about escaping reality but more about broadening your understanding of yourself and anchoring inwards to find peace, calm and balance when your faced with stress.
Easier said than done at times, but learning to let go of external pressures and expectations can be the key to unleashing your inner peace and tranquility. When we stop worrying about others think, or trying to control things, we create space and quiet for acceptance and clarity. Only when the mind is quiet will you hear your inner voice. Once this task of mindfulness is complete we are able to concentrate on what truly matters. Our health, our relationships with ourselves and with others, and our overall wellbeing. Happiness then comes naturally, after we have made all the things that nourish our spirit a priority. Get some exercise in, whatever makes you sweat.
The benefits of exercise on the brain specifically are phenomenal. Exercise releases neurotransmitters such as:
Endorphins. The body's natural painkiller and mood elevators. They reduce stress and improve mood.
Dopamine: This neurotransmitter is involved in reward and motivation, improving mood and helping with focus and attention.
Serotonin: Exercise increases serotonin levels, which helps regulate mood, reduce anxiety, and improve sleep. Exercise lowers levels of cortisol, the hormone associated with stress. By decreasing cortisol, physical activity helps reduce anxiety, tension, and the negative effects of chronic stress on the brain.
Check out the blog on exercise for more information. Surround yourself with people that make you laugh and smile, positive people that bring out the best in you. Practice gratitude daily. Being grateful for all the things we have and our health is vital to feeling happy. When were grateful for what we have we attract more of what makes us happy, in turn more and more to be grateful for. Self compassion is also important in living a more peaceful and fulfilled life. Be gentle on yourself, you've already been through enough.
As you start to let go of what does not serve you and all of the things you have no control over, you are able to embrace the present moment. This brings you the peace and happiness you desire.
Its then that you understand it was always inside of you, with you along, waiting for the day to be unleashed.
With a gentle heart, I wish you love and happiness x
