Unleashing the Entrepreneurial Spirit: My Journey to Building a Business

I completely trust and believe in Mother Nature and her natural solutions. In today’s fast paced world, it’s easy to lose touch with nature and the simple things that can make a profound difference in our health, wellbeing and happiness. I wanted to create a space where people could access high quality, natural products that not only nurture the body but also elevate the mind and spirit. Maybe even have a positive impact on someone's life.

I’ve always had a deep desire to pursue this path, as there’s nothing more fulfilling to me than helping others feel better and improve their wellbeing. Yet, for a long time, I hesitated, held back by a lack of confidence in putting myself out there. The fear of rejection and the thought that my products might not be well received stopped me. Fear is a powerful and strange force. It can be our greatest obstacle.

What comes with age is more confidence, less worry and definitely less care of what others think. Turning 40 was a massive change mentally for me. I suddenly did not care about the silly things, had a new sense of being comfortable in my own skin. I felt I could achieve anything I really wanted to. Going to Thailand with friends and family was a real motivational moment in my life. Its almost like being there gave me clarity and peace, which turned to feeling inspired. I had a crazy sudden urge to get the business off the ground. I began with the planning and researching as soon as I came home. 8 Months later, here we are.

It was my vision and my dream to bring this to life and be an ambassador for holistic and natural living.

From a young age, I became aware of the dangers of medications, and in my adult life, I’ve witnessed firsthand the nasty side effects they can have. Being allergic to antibiotics myself, I was always plagued with the most irritating reactions. Thank goodness for AlliTech. Now, I rely on this incredible natural antibiotic and never have to worry again. From tooth infections to the flu, AlliTech is my go to.

I have always had this deep rooted instinct that the universe can provide everything you could possibly need to improve your health. I believe there is an answer to every aliment. This theory has continued to grow as I see more and more people healing with natural alternatives. Friends making a full recovery from liver failure to caring for my dad when he had terminal cancer. I proudly tell everyone, not a single drop of morphine passed his lips. Sadly we lost him after 6 months, but something I find peace knowing, he was not in pain.

As to be expected, losing Dad hit me hard. He was my world and I was his. Everything I knew had changed, I felt utterly lost. My anxiety was the worst its ever been, reaching an all time high. I was in a dark place. I was struggling. To heighten the stress, I had fallen out with people I thought were lifers, which only added to the pain and trauma. We haven't spoken since, and now I'm grateful for that. I've always believed the universe guides us towards our true path, and parting ways with people is sometimes necessary. In hindsight, its clear they were never meant to be part of the journey. Our energies didn't align and I felt confused and betrayed.

I knew I had to do something to change the feeling inside. I begun yoga and meditation. Yoga I loved straight away, but the meditation was a struggle. I couldn't relax and be calm. My mind racing and thinking of 20 things at once, with constant thoughts about random stuff. Along with trying this, I took nature walks everyday. Getting sunshine and fresh air, and occasionally hugging a tree when I knew no one was looking. Must admit, I'm well over the shyness now and really do not care who sees. In fact I strongly urge everyone to do it. Connect with the energy of tree and feel its power and strength. Do it bare footed if you dare. As well as physically trying to heal I went to see healers and therapist, from gong baths to reiki healing. My passion intensified when I started feeling the benefits. The anxiety never went away until I started taking mushrooms. Nearly instantly feeling a little lighter, I knew they are life changing. A few weeks of taking mushrooms I noticed I was more focused and had more brain power. I was sleeping better and my moods are more uplifted. I was feeling so much better.

This time in my life made me become fiercely determined to spread the message of natural health. I spent countless hours researching and learning. Which ultimately gave me the confidence to create The Purple Hippy. Founded in 2023, The Purple Hippy was born from my desire to elevate the self care experience and promote natural ways to heal. Each product from potent adaptogens like Ashwagandha to the soothing embrace of our CBD formulations and the hours of research into the best ingredients for skincare, was carefully curated.

In 2020, I bought the domain name, although it still took me another three years to fully launch the website. Despite my usual aversion to anything tech related, I embraced the confusion, driven by my desire for organic natural products, I studied YouTube and learned the skills needed to bring The Purple Hippy to life.

In ancient times people relied on the natural world for healing. Herbs, plants, and natural remedies were the primary sources of treatment for ailments, passed down through generations. Every culture had its own traditions, from the herbal medicine of ancient China to the holistic practices of Ayurveda in India and indigenous remedies used across continents.

In this time, healers, shamans, and herbalists were the ones people turned to for cures. Nature was seen as a source of wisdom, and the body was treated as a whole, not just a collection of symptoms. Remedies were crafted from plants, roots, flowers, and minerals, used to restore balance in the body and support natural healing processes.

Back then, food was medicine. Diet, rest, and connection with nature were considered essential parts of health. People trusted in the Earth’s ability to provide everything necessary to maintain wellbeing, whether it was through the antiseptic properties of garlic, the calming effects of lavender, or the powerful immunity boosting effects of oregano.

As time progressed, advancements in science and technology led to the development of modern pharmaceuticals, which have their place in treating illness. However, there is something profoundly valuable about those ancient practices. A gentle understanding that nature provides everything we need to thrive and survive.

Many are rediscovering the wisdom of natural remedies and holistic healing. We are beginning to reconnect with a time when wellness was directly linked to the natural world, where the body was nurtured by the earth, and self care was a way of life.

I hope you love it as much as me. May my story encourage you to be brave and live your dreams.
